Exclusive: Top EU Diplomat Calls to Divide Jerusalem
The top EU diplomat appealed Saturday for the establishment of a "Palestinian state" as the killing of an Arab-Israeli by police fanned tensions following violent clashes in Jerusalem. Federica Mogherini, the European Union's new foreign affairs chief, said the world "cannot afford" another war in Gaza, after donor states once again poured billions of dollars into a reconstruction program following the summer's war with Israel.
"We need a Palestinian state - that is the ultimate goal and this is the position of all the European Union," Mogherini said during a trip to Gaza, devastated by its third conflict in six years.
While there is nothing new about the call for a "Palestinian" state what the EU top diplomat said next was in my opinion very prophetic. Let's see what she said:
Speaking later to journalists in Ramallah, the top EU diplomat called for dividing Jerusalem. "I think Jerusalem can be and should be the capital of two states," Mogherini said, touching on a sensitive issue that has blocked peace efforts for decades.
"Jerusalem is not just a beautiful city, the challenge is to show that Jerusalem can be shared in peace and respect," said Mogherini. "The message is not for the people who live here, the message is to the rest of the world," she said. "It is not a Palestinian-Israeli situation, it is a global issue."
We have all heard many diplomats call for a Palestinian state and of course many a Palestinian diplomat has called for "east Jerusalem" to be the Palestinian capital of any created state, the significance in my mind is to actually hear the head of the EU call for the division of Jerusalem. This to me is prophetic when looking at the fact that the Bible tells us that the coming Antichrist (which rises after the rapture) will be coming from the European Union just as the prophet Daniel predicted thousands of years ago. The prophet Daniel said that the coming "man of sin" would rise from within the people who destroyed the Temple. As we all know this was fulfilled in 70AD when the Romans laid siege of Jerusalem and destroyed the city and the Second Temple. This further led to the worldwide dispersion of the vast majority of the Jewish people.
We have seen recently that one or two European countries led first by Sweden have "recognized" a Palestinian state. This was followed by a "non-binding vote" in Britain that recognized a Palestinian state. Another article today in the Jerusalem Post reported that European states are threatening to recognize a Palestinian state if talks are not re-launched soon between Israel and the PA. According to the Jerusalem Post it is being reported:
Additional European nations have reportedly threatened to follow suit of Sweden and unilaterally recognize Palestinian statehood if peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority are not relaunched.
A Wall Street Journal report published late Friday cited senior US and European officials as reporting the potential move that some of Washington's main allies have considered. "Other European countries are poised to follow Sweden," a senior European official told the WSJ. "We're not going to wait forever," the official was quoted as saying in reference to the potential of his country to decide to recognize a Palestinian state.
So, what we are seeing here is a calculated and threatening posture
being taken by the EU towards Israel. I believe that the pressure
against Israel will continue to mount and it could be while the rest of
the world "recognizes" a Palestinian state, the truth of the matter is
that nothing will change on the ground until the parties themselves go
back to the bargaining table and sort out the specifics. However, I
don't see that happening and I believe that this continued pressure will
only increase the destruction on the gorund while helping to fulfill
the Bible prophecy of Jerusalem becoming a "burdensome stone" for the
world.
I also do not believe that God is happy with the recent developments and
that these flagrant and offensive moves by the world leaders are only
setting themselves up for a reckoning one day that will not be pretty.
God's Word in the Holy Bible is clear that Jerusalem is His and belongs
to the Jewish people. Any attempts by mankind to flaunt and ignore this
truth will only be met with utter failure.
While we do not have every small detail about how things will play out
on the world stage, I do believe that sometimes we will see news reports
that should make us sit up and take note of how little time there is
until the return of the Lord. This article appears to me to be one of
them. As a watchman on the Wall, I want to encourage everyone that reads
this article to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and to pray for the
salvation of the lost. Time is short and the Good News of Jesus Christ
should be boldly proclaimed as we see clear signs of how late it is.
As we can see from news articles like the ones I have talked about in
this edition of the Rapture Report, we can see that the end of the age
is coming to a close soon. Let's remain sober and watching for the Lord.
The Bible tells us that when we see these things coming to pass, to
lift up our heads, for our redemption is drawing nigh!
